Who can rent a room?

Accepted Answer

Rooms are available to registered allied health practitioners, including psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, mental health social workers, accredited counsellors, dietitians, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and massage therapists. Before your first booking, we ask for your contact details, profession, registration or accreditation number, a current Working With Children Check, and a current certificate of currency for your professional indemnity and public liability insurance. We approve you once, and from then on you can book the rooms yourself.

How does payment work?

For casual hourly hire, room hire is paid upfront at the time you book. There is no lease and no ongoing commitment; you pay only for the time blocks you use. For contracted arrangements, you are billed monthly, with payment due by the 15th of the following month.

What is the cancellation policy?

A 50% fee applies to any casual booking cancelled within 48 hours of the start time. Cancellations made earlier than that are not charged.

Question 4

Can I lock in a regular space instead of casual hire?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Casual hourly hire is the flexible default, but if you would prefer the certainty of a fixed regular space, we can set up a contracted arrangement. Contracts are billed monthly, due by the 15th of the following month. We require 14 days notice to end a contract, with the account settled within 10 business days of the agreed final day. Contracted renters can also negotiate hours outside our standard times. This is arranged case-by-case and requires a refundable deposit for an entry fob. Question 5

Is there a waiting room for my clients?

Yes. The suite has a shared waiting area with seating, water, tea and coffee, and reading material. Clients can arrive a few minutes early without disturbing other practitioners.

Question 6

What about after-hours access?

Accepted Answer

Public access to the building is restricted after-hours. The door to our suite opens with a personal access code, which we issue you when your access is approved. Codes are strictly personal and cannot be shared.

Question 7

Are the rooms LGBTQIA+ inclusive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Equal Psychology is a registered Welcome Here Project member, and our rooms and shared spaces are an actively inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ clients and practitioners. Our practice uses affirming language and accommodates name and pronoun preferences on intake.

Question 8

Are the rooms physically accessible?

Accepted Answer

The rooms are easily accessed via lift, and accessible toilets are available on Level 3. If you or your clients have specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch before booking so we can talk through whether the rooms will meet your needs.

Question 9

What insurance and checks do I need?

Accepted Answer

All renters must hold current professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and a current Working With Children Check. We ask for these before your first booking. Equal Psychology's insurance does not extend to your professional practice in our rooms.
